Since the CSR chips seem to be pretty prevalent with bluetooth dongles I would hate to buy a different one just to have the same issue so I figured I'd drop this unusual problem out here to see if any of you have had the same problem. I also ran windows system file checker and found no problems. I have attempted to delete the xbox one controller from the list of bluetooth devices in the windows settings and it simply hangs saying "removing device" then goes right back to showing the controller in the list with "turned off" as its status. I have tried other version of CSR drivers with no change in controller functionality. I have uninstalled the software and deleted the drivers to use the windows generic bluetooth driver but it fails to load and forces the use of the CSR driver to function. I installed the required drivers provided by the manufacturer and it works fine for speakers but when I pair my xbox one controller the windows device settings tells me that the controller is off even though the bluetooth software shows it as active and paired. The original was a cheap no name usb dongle that used an intel chipset paid maybe 10 bucks for it, the new dongle, equally as cheap, uses a CSR chipset. I recently needed to purchase a new bluetooth dongle for my PC when the one I was using died.
